We at Globalfoundries have one of the 35 best company restaurants in Germany, and were recognized for this by the Food & Health Canteen Test 2021 together with FOCUS. The jury was especially positive about the fact that fresh food is always cooked for each of the 3 shifts and that an excellent pandemic concept is pursued.
At this point, we would like to thank our canteen provider Aramark for the excellent supply of always fresh and regional food, as well as the always great cooperation.
For the third time, the Food & Health initiative in cooperation with FOCUS has recognized company canteens that are at the top of the industry in terms of quality. At the top of the list of criteria are usually health, sustainability and taste. But 2020 was also a special year for company canteens. In many companies employees were working from home, and those who continued to work on the company premises were subject to strict contact restrictions. So for the 2021 canteen test, an additional criterion was added: Who would meet the pandemic with special creativity – without abandoning the demands of health, sustainability and taste?
Our canteen excellently met and consistently implemented all of these criteria in 2020, and therefore secured the award.
Company restaurants play an important role because the quality of the food is directly related to performance, productivity, as well as the prevention of nutrition-related diseases among employees. For many, it is often the only hot meal of the day, and thus, in the long term, the basis for employee health and well-being. Today, a company’s gastronomic concept has long become an integral part of its corporate culture. A healthy, balanced menu of fresh, regionally produced products and their creative and good preparation reflects the appreciation for employees.
